The Faculty of Recorded Media Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta continues to evolve – expanding the network of cooperation with various parties from abroad.  In this challenging year, where pandemic keeps whacking and seems not to be over, the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts has been endowed an extraordinary opportunity, that is to make Pandeng Gallery as one of FIAP Exhibition Centers, the first and only one in Indonesia. This achievement is truly a joy and a blessing for the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, because the upcoming exhibitions held at Pandeng Gallery will gain international recognition.  International recognition is undoubtedly important for the artists, especially in today’s era. Somehow, it will open up opportunities for those artists to be recognized on the global scene and benefited from their artistry career.

The remarkable thing about the inauguration of Pandeng Gallery as one of the FIAP Exhibition Centres is that it becomes accessible for genres other than photography to gain international recognition. Apart from the Department of Photography, it has been known that the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts, ISI Yogyakarta has two other departments namely Department of Film and Television and Department of Animation.  Thus, it will escalate the confidence of the artists who participate in the exhibition and will improve the quality of the artworks on display.  This special occasion will also become a driving force to improve the quality of the art management at Pandeng Gallery. In embracing this marvelous patronage from FIAP,  I as the Dean of the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts, Indonesia Institute of The Arts Yogyakarta would like to thank all parties contributing to accomplishing it.  To the President of FIAP, : Riccardo Busi; to the Vice President and Director of the Exhibition Center of FIAP Joan Burguès Martisella; to Mr. Harjanto Sumawan, Liaison Officer of FIAP, and to Mr. Johnny Hendarta as President of Federation of Photographic Society of Indonesia. To Rector of Indonesia Institute of The Arts, Yogyakarta for his great support and for giving warm opening remarks, as well as officially opened the exhibition and inaugurated Pandeng Gallery as FIAP Exhibition Center. To HISFA Yogyakarta, and FPSI; to all pioneer and academic community of the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts, Indonesia Institute of The Arts Yogyakarta.
